All that lives-Bradford residency
Drop in and join in collaborative ofrenda making at our Darley Street space on Weds 1 May from 12 noon to 6pm, Thursday 2 May 12 noon to 6pm and Friday 3 May from 12 noon to 6pm.
Uniting Bradford, Leeds and Mexico for a celebration of those loved and lost.
Artists from West Yorkshire and from Mexico’s The Faro De Oriente will be working collaboratively with communities to build Ofrenda shrines to remember our loved ones from heroes like David Bowie to legends like your Nan.
The Faro specialise in making large scale installations with communities for Dia De Muertos (Mexican Day of the Dead). Faro artists also worked on the large-scale sculptures for the Bond Film ‘Spectre’. This is their first time working in the UK.
Please feel free to drop in and add to the artwork by bringing along a photo of someone you’ve lost. Stay and have a cup of tea, meet the artists and get stuck in with crafting activities if you want to have a go. Equally, feel free to sit back and immerse yourself in a little patch of Mexico.
This is event is free to all.
The residency will continue in Leeds, the following week, culminating in a Feast as part of Leeds International Festival on Friday 10 May. Get your tickets here - https://leedsinternationalfestival.com/event/all-that-lives-feasts/
